Connections between the Port and the City
In the last few years, the port of Mazatlan has reinforced its ties with the city. API, being responsible for the operation and administration of the port, has been the instigator of various things which benefit the city such as publics works to improve the city as a tourist destination and support of cultural and sporting events.

In this spirit, on the 21st of April, Alfonso Gil Diaz, the Director General of API, gave the city of Mazatlan four reconditioned tractors so that they could be utilized for different civic and cultural events. API had used the tractors to transport passengers from the dock to the terminal, or vice versa.
The Aures
The freighter ship Aures from the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) began operations as a service feeder, disembarking for Manzanillo last May 4th. The ship substitutes for the Maxi when the demand requires a ship with larger capacity for the transport of containers.
We congratulate MSC for this important service that helps Mazatlan offer solutions when opportunities present themselves.
Professional Practices
Miss Ouffa Mehlabi arrived in Mazatlan from France in December, 2005. She is a student of Business Administration whose objective was to get to know the port of Mazatlan and then do an organizational intervention. We in the management of API had the honor of having Ouffa accompany us to participate actively in dealing with customer service, work meetings and port planning. She participated in many sessions of the methodology “Balanced Scorecard” in order to determine the new strategy of the port. We are confident that this experience will enrich her in her professional life and hope that in the near future Ouffa returns to our country in a professional capacity.
