From March 14th through the 16th, Mazatlan participated as an exhibitor in the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention that took place in Miami Beach, Florida.

With the support of the Miami-based branch of the Mexico Advisors of Tourist Promotions, The Ports of Mexico were received in the pavilion of the expo hall to show the integration of cruise ships into the tourist designs of Mexico.  We had the opportunity to hold business meetings with executives of various cruise lines and discuss with them important things like the dredging and expanding of the Mazatlan harbor, a study of port maneuvering and a new program scheduled for 2006 that deals with making space for a fourth cruise ship in the port.

The Mazatlan delegation in Miami included Alfonzo Diaz Gil, the Director General of Mazatlan API, Raul Llera Martinez, the Coordinator of Tourism of Sinaloa, Jose Luis Hernandez Magallon, the Regional Director of Development of CODESIN (south zone), Rafael Rivera Lopez, the Director of Tropical Tours and Alex Casarrubias Garcia, the Commercialization Manager of API, Mazatlan.
