In Culiacan We Harvest Smiles

In the last several years, the city of Culiacan has had an explosive social and economic development which has placed it among the top cities in the country as far as investments go.  Even large foreign businesses have eyed Culiacan and the rest of the state to do business and to carry out important projects.

The Sinaloa Council of Development works mightily to promote the state abroad and attract new investments.  One of the actions that has helped foster this socio-economic growth is that which PROTUR (the Office of Expositions and Conventions), together with the state government and various public and private businesses, is carrying out.  They have made Culiacan into a host city for various events like fairs and conventions and congresses and expositions.  The city offers a large area of space where people can have sporting and academic events, social and cultural events, scientific and artistic events, business and consumer events and more.  And this has led to a good infrastructure in the hotel, service and tourist fields.

They are just about to turn the ground on the construction of an exposition and convention center, which is sorely needed.  The state government footed the bill for the land where this important building would be built and although an inversion of 13 million dollars would be needed for the construction, it is hoped that it’ll be finished by the end of the year. 

Here are some of the standout events that are held annually in this beautiful city in the northwest part of our country.  These events contribute a lot to the significant development in this region of the state of Sinaloa.
