Mazatlan offers its visitors more then the sunny beach and fun. There are also many places to go shopping.
A day of shopping in Mazatlan is a unique experience and can turn out to be an enriching experience. During your excursion to the various shopping zones, you can soak up all the colors, sights and sounds that make up the atmosphere.
Here in this paradise of Mazatlan, you can find almost anything from fine stone incrusted jewels to silver ware to fine arts and crafts.
A traditional place to go shopping is the Pino Suarez market, located in the heart of downtown. Here they sell seafood, meats, vegetables and an endless list of hand crafted arts and crafts made by Mazatlecans.
Also downtown you will find loads of bookstores and crafts stores and at the Plaza Machado each Saturday you’ll find a colorful bizarre.
At the other end of the city you will find the commercial shopping area known as La Gran Plaza. It is a large mall with boutiques and stores of all kinds.
A site of interest for the shopper is the Golden Zone (La Zona Dorada), where even more artisan shops are located. You can find almost anything from uniquely designed ceramic work to wood and metal sculptures to jewelry and clothing.
The Shell Museum (El Museo de Conchas) is a famous old store that sells lots of different sea shell designs, a truly interesting place. You will find mobiles, animal figures, statues of the blessed virgin and flowers, all designed around shell themes. And of course you can buy just plane shells if you desire to do your own figures.
It is a pleasurable experience to go out shopping on the town in Mazatlan.
