The Taste of the Past enjoy it at the Shrimp Bucket

Shrimp BucketA great, traditional place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner here in Mazatlan is the Shrimp Bucket.  It was the first restaurant of the Anderson Group and was founded by Carlos Anderson, along with his friend Chuy Juarez in 1962.  They decided to locate the restaurant next to the famous Hotel la Siesta in Olas Alas.

The opening of the Shrimp Bucket changed the restaurant business in Mazatlan since it offered its clients delicious seafood plates and is today still considered one of the best places to eat in town.  It combines the elements of fun, good food and excellent service and its 4 plus decades of success are proof of its success.

The name Shrimp Bucket comes from the fact that fishermen used to have to bring their lunches with them in a container of some sort and the majority used to use a metal bucket, which was ideal for shrimp.  The concept for the restaurant is taken from that scene, that is, an informal, relaxed restaurant with a family atmosphere.

When you visit the restaurant, ask about the house specialties such as the bucket of shrimp accompanied by French fried, a true delicacy that’ll tickle your taste buds.  Another treat is the carousel of shrimp, which is a combination of shrimp done up in different styles accompanied by a garnish of fresh grilled vegetables.

Shrimp BucketAmong the novelties that the Shrimp Bucket prepares for its guests are the buffet breakfasts every Sunday in the patio of the restaurant.  These begin each November.  The patio can also be utilized for special events.  It was just remodeled and still has the classic look of the La Siesta from 40 years ago.

The Shrimp Bucket is a preferred place for visitors and locals because of the great food and excellent service.  It is located in Olas Altas, number 1126 Sur and is open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.  For reservations call 981-6350 or 982-8019
