A Nice Outing: Enjoy a Day in the City Forest

Text: Martha Bojórquez - Photo: Iván Lizárraga

Bosque de la Ciudad

A great place to visit with the family is the city forest.  You will find diverse species of leafy trees that provide the city with lots of fresh air and shade.  Palm trees, eucalyptus, citrus trees, cactus, bougainvilleas are just a few of the plants and trees you will find here.

There are two lagoons where you can observe ducks, heron, fish, turtles and many kinds of migratory birds as you kick back and relax.

There are also BBQ pits and tables with benches for family meals and the little ones can have fun playing on all the different toys to be found such as swings, slides and a trampoline.

On weekends a little train operates that goes all around the forest.  In the summer, kids enjoy a splashing pond where they splash and refresh.  Please note that adults must watch over children in the splashing pond.
