Best wishes for 2009- may your year be one full of accomplishments.
Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico, January 1th, 2009.- We are all aware of the turmoil in the global financial picture. Keep in mind, however, we Mexicans have found ourselves in incredibly difficult situations countless times and have always coped, thanks to effort, will and work on the part of the Mexican people. Government has never had anything to do with it. On the contrary, in past crises, government has gone against public exhortations. Even so, we have moved forward.
2009 should be an excellent year for the country, both for Mexicans in general and Sinaloans in particular. We must of course continue to work with dedication, making clear and objective decisions which allow us to, as always, deal with the errors of those who govern us, and those who create the problems.
We should be attentive to global changes, sensing that a new world economic order is approaching. We should not fear change; on the contrary, we should rapidly adapt ourselves to it, as what we are leaving behind is nothing praiseworthy.
