Estrella del Mar and Frontier Airlines Intensely Promote Mazatlan

estrella.del.mar.frontier.1.JPGMay 4, 2006, Estrella del Mar Tourist Complex: This afternoon in the beautiful installations of Estrella del Mar, Patrick Butler, the complex’s president, told of the strategic alliance signed between Frontier Airlines and the Estrella del Mar which would promote Mazatlan in the city of Denver, Colorado.  He was accompanied by Diane Willman, PR director of the airline, the mayor of Mazatlan, Alejandro Higuera Osuna, and Monica Coppel, sub director of the Sinaloa General Tourism Coordination.

An excited Mr. Butler informed the media during his welcome speech that he felt pleased with the results which the alliance withestrella.del.mar.frontier.2.JPG Frontier has had.  In the first phase, there has been an intense promoting of Mazatlan in Denver, so much that many people are asking for information about Mazatlan. Even more exciting than the interest generated in the campaign has been the arrival of the first flights here in Mazatlan. Diane Willman, the PR director of Frontier, jokingly pointed out that the airline owes a favor to Mazatlan because being in Mazatlan makes the dolphins that the airline uses as a logo on its flights even more relevant.  She said that the dolphins staged a strike in the upper echelons of the airline and only asked that they bring flights to Mazatlan and if they didn’t, the dolphins asked to be taken off their planes. There was no other alternative than to yield to the demands of these highly intelligent creatures

Diane went on to say that Mazatlan is highly appreciated in Denver and that the inhabitants of this Colorado city know that it is a charming place that notestrella.del.mar.frontier.3.JPG only offers beaches as nice as Cancun, Ixtapa or Acapulco but also architecture, culture and a great style of life, so much that Denver’s citizens fall in love with Mazatlan

Upon being questioned about the frequency of flights, she said “At this time of year, which is supposedly the low season, we have 3 flights a week.  Each flight has occupancy of 132 people.  But given the results we have had due to the campaign, we have no doubt that we will increase the frequency.”  She added that “you can be assured that during high season we will have flights arriving every day.”  She finished up by saying that “Denver is the central hub for Frontier Airlines and through this the campaign has spread to cities in California and other parts of the USA.  We assume that Mazatlan will be a much solicited place to travel.”  Before saying goodbye, she thanked Mr. Butler for his strongestrella.del.mar.frontier.4.JPG support and also thanked the residents of Denver whose response has helped the campaign enormously

The mayor’s speech was short and sweet.  He thanked the airline and Estrella del Mar, in particular Mr. Butler for helping Mazatlan in this manner.

Monica Coppel, the sub director of tourism in Sinaloa, thanked those present for their efforts and asked them to keep supporting Mazatlan.

At the end of the event, the guests and directors enjoyed a great meal in the complex’s Paloma restaurant.
